About
African Wars in the 21st Century is part of a broader initiative dedicated to examining African security frameworks and the dynamics of civil–military relations in contexts of fragility and post-conflict recovery. These workshops bring together scholars, policy analysts, civil society actors, and representatives from international organizations to critically assess the evolving landscape of security threats, while also highlighting opportunities for African states to reimagine human security and stabilization mechanisms.
The objective is to foster diverse perspectives, encourage critical reflection and debate, and generate actionable solutions that ensure recovery efforts remain context-specific, inclusive, and responsive to realities on the ground. By convening a wide range of voices, the workshop provides a trusted platform for rethinking sustainable, African-led approaches to conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and post-conflict recovery.
